Randhawa's Indian Cuisine, located in the vibrant suburb of Waterford, QLD, is seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. We are proud to be recognised for delivering rich, authentic Indian flavours crafted with the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Our restaurant specialises in traditional Indian recipes including tandoori dishes, curries, and a range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, all served in a warm and welcoming setting. We are now expanding our kitchen team to keep pace with our growing customer base and ensure continued excellence in every dish we serve.

Position Title: Chef

Location: Waterford, QLD

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and develop diverse Indian menus, including traditional and contemporary dishes, while estimating food and labour costs
  • Order and manage stock of ingredients, spices, and kitchen supplies in line with inventory requirements and demand
  • Operate and maintain tandoor ovens for preparing items such as naan, kebabs, and tandoori meats
  • Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes using authentic methods and recipes to ensure high quality, consistency, and flavour
  • Supervise kitchen operations and ensure food is prepared and presented to company standards at every stage
  • Liaise with restaurant managers, kitchen staff, and suppliers to resolve food preparation issues and streamline workflow
  • Monitor food quality, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with local health regulations
  • Provide training, mentoring, and supervision to kitchen staff and apprentices, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team
  • Enforce hygiene regulations and proper food handling practices throughout the kitchen
  • Innovate and introduce new menu items to meet customer preferences and market trends
  • Control waste and portion sizes to maintain profitability and reduce environmental impact
  • Ensure proper storage and preservation of ingredients, including freezing or pre-cooking where appropriate
  • Assist in planning and execution of catering events and seasonal menu changes
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and equipment
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
Hours: Full-time (38 hours per week)
Qualifications: AQF bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably with experience in Indian and tandoori cuisine
