About the Role:This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of manufacturing cost accounting systems, coordinating, and reporting on all operational cost components. Working closely with the Operations Manager, sales, and supply chain, reporting site manufacturing cost variances, and driving continuous improvement/reduction in cost and variances across the site.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing & Compliance: Accurately process and manage end-to-end payroll for up to 100-150 employees using ERP systems, ensuring timely payments and compliance with taxation laws, superannuation requirements, and relevant industrial awards.
- Employee Lifecycle & Payroll Administration: Manage the full employee payroll lifecycle from onboarding to termination, including setting up new starters, processing salary adjustments, and handling employee pay queries promptly and professionally.
- Payroll Management: Manage multiple ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, SAP and Xero, Record vendor invoices and other financial transactions, Examine material costs in relation to vendor invoices and budgets, Analyse the company’s finances and results through ERP systems
- Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee payroll tax, PAYG withholding, and superannuation contributions, ensuring timely lodgement of compliance documentation with relevant authorities. Manage employee entitlements, including leave calculations, redundancies, and termination payments in accordance with legal requirements.
- General Accounting Support: Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, bank reconciliations, and financial data analysis as required. Provide support to the finance team on ad-hoc projects and financial initiatives. Continuous focus on efficiencies and process improvement.
- Month-End & Year-End Financial Processes: Perform month-end and year-end reconciliations, ensuring financial data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analysis. Collaborate with month end and budget/forecast process activities, Prepare, monitor and adjust the annual budget.
- Financial Reporting & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS). Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decision-making. Prepare end of month financial statements for reporting, consolidation, and reconciliation with headquarters.
- Financial Audits: Conduct financial investigations in relation to new customers, Support audit process (Internal and External), Prepare information for auditors, Review and maintain the internal control system
- Process Improvement & Best Practices: Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in payroll and accounting processes, implementing best practices to enhance accuracy and operational effectiveness. Work collaboratively with the wider finance team to streamline financial workflows.
Skills required:
- Atleast a relevant Bachelor Degree
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and set prioritize that ensure a high standard of competency in completion of tasks
- Strong knowledge of Taxation and Regulatory compliance rules/ guidelines
- Work collaboratively to deliver business outcomes
- Ability to build relationships and demonstrate a strong winning team culture
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills, ability to articulate and communicate the information effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced MS Excel, Word)
- Excellent record management skills
- Sound working knowledge of management accounting and accounting programs (e.g XERO, SAP, Navision)
- Knowledge of Navision or similar ERP package desirable
- Keen interest towards implementing best practices and process improvements.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
