About the role

The purpose of this role is to sustainably deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, by contributing to the control environment and working alongside team members within Finance control with a focus on trust accounting.

This role is perfect for a proactive Assistant Accountant who is looking for that next step into a financial accounting space. You are a natural problem solver with sound attention to detail. Success in this role will come from learning quickly and ensuring robust controls surround key processes, including bank recs, broker commission and trust accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for trust bank rec, understanding of loan level transaction and inter trust cash movement/transfers.
  • Ownership of the broker commissions process, from sourcing the reports from the loan system to reviewing the results, making periodic payments and posting accounting journals into the general ledger.
  • Key contributor to the month end close by posting journal entries across a range of areas and reconciling balance sheet accounts to facilitate a timely month end close.
  • Prepare the GST reports that feed into the Business Activity Statements for Bluestone.
  • Continuously update skill set, expertise, and technical knowledge by attending the required workshops and courses.
  • Actively participate in Finance and non-Finance led projects that make system enhancements to improve processes.
  • Ad hoc analysis on financial and non-financial data as required, processing cash transfers as required.
Your experience
  • Professional Accounting degree or CPA/CA/ACCA qualified.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Prior experience with Trusts, Lending and Financial Services industry is preferred.
  • Experienced with large ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP or TechOne
