We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Broadacre Crop and Livestock Farm Worker on behalf of our client, R.L Bielby & S.J Lyneham located in Popanyinning, Western Australia.This is a permanent, full-time opportunity suited to a motivated individual with well-rounded experience in mixed farming
operations, including animal husbandry and broadacre crop production. The role involves both hands-on farm work and the ability to assist in supervising day-to-day farm activities.
About the RoleWorking closely with farm managers and alongside a small team, the successful candidate will support both livestock and
cropping operations. This role includes the operation and maintenance of farm machinery, coordination of seasonal tasks, and the care and handling of livestock—particularly pigs. This position is ideal for someone who can operate autonomously while also contributing to a team-oriented, safety-first farming environment.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesAligned with the ANZSCO classification 363115-Senior Broadacre Crop and Livestock Farm Worker, duties include:
Supporting the planning and implementation of broadacre cropping programs, including sowing, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting
Operating and maintaining modern farm machinery such as tractors, sprayers, seeders, harvesters, and front-end loaders
Monitoring crop and pasture health and reporting signs of disease, pest infestations, or deficiencies
Providing care for piggery livestock, including feeding, monitoring, handling, and assisting in movement and transportation
Recording and reporting livestock data, machinery usage, and crop production figures as required
Assisting with the coordination and supervision of seasonal workers during high-demand periods
Transporting and handling hay, straw, feed, fertiliser, and other materials around the farm
Performing general farm maintenance tasks including fencing, yard work, water systems, and infrastructure repair
Adhering to and promoting best practices in biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace health and safety
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
To be considered for the role, applicants must meet one of the following: Hold an AQF Certificate II or equivalent and have at least 1.5 years (20+ hours/week) of relevant post-qualification
experience; OR Hold an AQF Certificate III or higher and have at least 1 year (20+ hours/week) of relevant post-qualification experience; ORHave at least 1 year of full-time (38+ hours/week) relevant experience in broadacre and livestock farm work
Essential Requirements: Demonstrated experience in both broadacre crop production and livestock handling (pigs or other livestock)
Practical knowledge of seeding, spraying, harvesting, and feeding systemsCompetence in operating and maintaining farm machinery and mechanical equipment
Familiarity with safe work practices, WHS regulations, and biosecurity protocols
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Good communication skills and willingness to assist in supervision
A current driver's licence is required; machinery or forklift tickets are desirable
