About the Role:

The Accounts Payable Team Lead will oversee a small team, managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable function for CDC, ensuring payment obligations are met and maintaining high-quality supplier relationships. Additionally, the role involves managing the procurement process for Purchase Orders (PO), and triaging and resolving inquiries in compliance with the organisation's procurement guidelines.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring efficient service delivery and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Review and manage payments, assist Treasury with cash flow forecasting, and complete month-end processing within agreed time frames.
  • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) efficiently and accurately, send remittances to suppliers, and collaborate with the broader Finance team on period-end Journals, particularly those related to Accruals and Expenses.
  • Lead the team in delivering efficient business services and participate in the financial control leadership team to foster effective working relationships across Finance.
  • Initiate process improvements to enhance service delivery and attend relevant team and stakeholder meetings to ensure excellent engagement and communication.

About you:

This role requires an approachable, knowledgeable leader with proven experience in leading an Accounts Payable team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders. They should also have the confidence to handle complex invoice inventory and validation when necessary.

  • Possesses strong people skills with a focus on providing quality customer service, and excellent communication abilities at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience in analysing data and identifying areas for improvement in Accounts Payable, with a working knowledge of GST classification.
  • Demonstrates excellent time management skills, the ability to manage conflicting priorities, and deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely outcomes.
  • Proficient in MS 365 Suite and experience using Yardi or Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.

Essential:

  • Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance
