Key Responsibilities- Technical Support: Act as the Level 2/3 escalation point for the IT service desk, efficiently resolving complex IT infrastructure issues.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, administration, and upgrades of IT infrastructure hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
- Vendor Liaison: Collaborate with ICT vendors and colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve core infrastructure-related issues promptly.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for IT infrastructure enhancements and work with the IT Operations Team Leader to plan and prioritise projects and tasks.
- Security Compliance: Assist the Cyber Security Analyst in ensuring all software and hardware configurations align with industry best practices and security frameworks.
- Project Participation: Contribute to IT projects and undertake additional duties as directed to support organisational objectives.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Experience: Significant experience in a similar Systems Administrator role with a proven track record in IT infrastructure support and maintenance.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in administering Microsoft 365 cloud technologies (Entra, Intune, Exchange Online, Defender, Teams) and modern virtualisation platforms (VMware, Azure).
- Operating Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop, as well as Linux Server operating systems.
- Networking Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts, including switching, routing, VLANs, WLAN, WAN, and VPN.
- Storage Management: Familiarity with various storage technologies and enterprise backup products.
- Security Awareness: Experience with next-generation firewalls and a solid understanding of information security principles and frameworks (e.g., ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001).
- Scripting and Automation: Demonstrated experience in scripting and automation for both Windows and Linux environments.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Certifications: Relevant qualifications and/or certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Check Point) are desirable.
- Licenses: Valid C Class driver's license.
