Our client Country Grocer Unanderra is a well-established grocery store located in the heart of Unanderra, NSW. Country Grocer Unanderra prides on delivering a wide range of fresh produce, grocery items, and everyday household essentials in a friendly, welcoming, and community-oriented environment.
This is a key leadership position for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about the retail grocery industry. As the Store/Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the store’s daily functions, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring a smooth and efficient shopping experience for customers.
The managerial and administrative aspect of your role will encompass determining product mix, stock levels and service standards, selling goods, maintaining records of stock, financial transactions and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Store Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring cleanliness, order, and a positive customer shopping experience.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, creating a motivated and collaborative team environment.
- Customer Service: Ensure every customer receives excellent service and that any concerns or issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, product ordering, rotation, and merchandising to maintain a fresh and well-stocked store.
- Sales & Promotion: Develop and implement sales strategies, in-store promotions, and marketing initiatives to boost sales and foot traffic.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor budgets, sales targets, and financial reporting to ensure profitability.
- Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with workplace safety and health regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- A minimum Diploma (AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma) in a relevant field.
- At least one year experience in a similar managerial role within the retail or grocery sector.
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
- A proven track record in managing store operations, achieving sales targets, and leading teams effectively.
- Demonstrated skills in inventory control, budget management, and visual merchandising.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems quickly, and adapt to changing priorities.
