ST JOHN'S PARK BOWLING CLUB LTD is looking for a full time Chef or Cook for their busy venue TUNCURRY BEACH BOWLING CLUB.
Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club, located at 21 Parkes Street on the NSW Mid-North Coast, is a vibrant regional venue that has been part of the local community since 1955. Known for its friendly atmosphere and commitment to the sport of lawn bowls, the club boasts three high-quality greens catering to both serious competitors and social players.

In recent years, the club has become part of the larger St Johns Park Bowling Club Group, benefiting from shared resources, modernization support, and a broadened community reach through this strategic partnership.

This affiliation has helped Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club enhance its offerings, from hospitality to event services. It features two popular dining spots—21 on Park Restaurant and Sail Away Brasserie—serving fresh seafood and hearty meals in a relaxed coastal setting.

With a 300-seat auditorium for entertainment and functions, on-site holiday units, and courtesy bus service, the club seamlessly combines the charm of a local venue with the professionalism and support of a larger club group, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for members and visitors alike.

To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills
  • Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
  • Demonstrate a keen Interest in growing food trends and techniques
  • Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control
  • Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
  • Stock ordering
  • Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering
  • A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS
  • Immaculate presentation and grooming
  • Ability to handle large service numbers
  • Above average customer care and service skills
  • Chef needs to be able to train our junior team on cooking techniques and procedures
  • Assist with staff hiring and training
  • Experience on grill and fryer section highly desirable
  • Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
  • Discuss customer requirements and request with the frost on house team
