The Opportunity: A Unique, Short-Term Strategic ProjectWe are launching a pivotal six-month, non-ongoing strategic project to explore and establish a boutique foodservice distribution (FDS) channel. This is a unique, project-based opportunity for a highly specialised Sales and Marketing Manager with irreplicable regional expertise from Campania, or surrounding areas in Italy.
Your mission: to leverage this proprietary knowledge to design and initiate our entry into the boutique foodservice sector, focusing on the distribution of traditional and artisanal cheeses to high-end restaurants, catering companies, and boutique hotel kitchens.
Key Responsibilities (Project-Based):- Develop and document a bespoke go-to-market strategy for the Australian foodservice sector, critically informed by successful southern Italian regional distribution models.
- Provide critical market intelligence and channel insights derived directly from your firsthand experience within southern Italy’s unique foodservice landscape.
- Engage with high-value Australian hospitality and retail stakeholders to assess project viability and gauge interest in traditional Italian dairy supply chains.
- Translate unique Italian distribution practices, including culturally specific B2B relationship models, into actionable, scalable strategies adaptable to the Australian market.
- Collaborate closely with our local team to ensure effective knowledge transfer and document processes for sustainable, post-project implementation by Australian staff.
- Develop and implement targeted promotional strategies tailored for Australian foodservice clients, based on traditional Italian marketing techniques to build awareness and position That’s Amore Cheese as a premium, culturally authentic brand in boutique hospitality venues.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis specifically focused on gaps in the Australian market for traditional Italian dairy products, using comparative insights.
- Evaluate and report on campaign effectiveness and ROI, preparing data-driven recommendations for future permanent staff and leadership to support post-project scaling, aligned with company goals and long-term foodservice growth strategy.
- Verifiable, extensive (5+ years desirable) experience in the foodservice/HORECA sector specifically within southern Italy, focusing on artisanal/regional product distribution.
- Profound, practical understanding of traditional Italian dairy products (e.g., mozzarella di bufala, ricotta di pecora, aged provola) and their nuanced supply chains from an Italian perspective.
- Proven track record developing B2B food distribution channels within boutique and high-end Italian hospitality markets.
- In-depth cultural and commercial literacy of Italian regional food supply models, particularly those unique to Campania, which differ significantly from Australian structures.
- Fluency in Italian and professional proficiency in English, with the demonstrated ability to articulate complex market dynamics and translate them into actionable strategies for an Australian business context.
- This role is essential for a short-term, strategic knowledge injection.
- This is a project-specific engagement designed to transfer proprietary regional knowledge.
- You will be directly contributing to an innovative, time-limited pilot project that will pave the way for future growth and employment opportunities for Australians within That's Amore Cheese.
- Duration: 6 months (fixed-term, project-based).
- Visa: Sponsorship for the Subclass 400 (Temporary Work - Short Stay Specialist) visa will be provided to the successful overseas candidate meeting all criteria.
- Location: Primarily onsite at our Thomastown, VIC facility (some local travel may be required).
- Remuneration: $85,000 - $90,000
