We’re looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Technology team based in at our Prestons office in Southwest Sydney on a permanent, full-time basis.
Your role
As a Cloud Platform Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a subject matter expert within the Transformation and Technology team, ensuring the infrastructure environment is developed and maintained in alignment with modern cloud best practices.
- Providing hands on development capability for automating Cloud Services, such as Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
- Delivering projects, both working autonomously and part of a larger group.
- Championing and advocating for continuous improvement, focusing on automating processes wherever possible. Additionally, you will be responsible for eliminating technical debt and streamlining existing procedures by reducing manual effort.
- Analysing and managing cloud expenditures, while providing recommendations for cost savings. Implementing policies to ensure efficient cloud usage further contributes to cost-effectiveness.
- Supporting the disaster recovery planning and perform regular platform maintenance and activities.
- Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Environments (SOE), including application packaging using Microsoft Intune.
About you
Along with previous experience (3+ years) and certifications in developing, managing, and supporting corporate Azure environments, you’ll have knowledge and experience in:
- Public Cloud Computing and a good understanding of the Azure Cloud Platform and supporting Microsoft technologies.
- Expert hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, including IaaS and PaaS components (e.g. App Services, Function Apps, Storage Accounts, Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, VNets, NSG’s, Azure vWan, Azure IoT, API, etc).
- Strong experience with scripting/programming in programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML etc
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code Cloud Formation – Terraform
- DevOps experience, CI/CD pipelines for Terraform infrastructure management and deployment.
- Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Copilot and Power Platform
- Server Administration (e.g. Windows Server Editions, Unix, Linux variants)
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, Load Balancing, etc)
- Configuration Management Automation tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc)
- Database administration (e.g. MSSQL, MySQL, etc)
- Agile and ITIL practices and principles and previous experience providing L4 support for critical systems
- Strong experience with Microsoft Intune, application packaging and Azure Active Directory.
- Experience in creating technical roadmaps and strategy, and the ability to communicate and execute it effectively
- Experience in the design and delivery of native cloud architectures and patterns
- Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable - Experience delivering SharePoint, Teams, Copilot and Power Platform projects
- Desirable – Knowledge of Networking (HP Aruba, Velocloud SD-WAN Technology)
- Desirable - Knowledge of Cloud backup technologies – Rubrik
Additional qualifications you will hold to ensure you are the best person for the role include:
- A qualification in information technology or equivalent
- Relevant cloud and / or Microsoft certifications
