Job Overview:

The individual entrusted with holding this position will be responsible for managing their portfolio, which includes regassification systems, as well as vacuum jacketed pipelines, systems and sumps for the Heat Exchanger Functional Unit. You will be directly responsible for identifying, developing, and monitoring business and market strategy.

This role will collaborate with various departments within the business and specifically partner with business development, sales, and engineering teams to develop new products or enhance existing products for current and new markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Managers own the existing product lines, and these product lines need to be managed to ensure that we maintain market share, revenue, and profitability.
  • Monitoring Global Opportunities and demands for their products
  • Daily sales of their products across the world.
  • The technical features and their benefits of each product lines
  • Having knowledge and communicating the current state of play of their markets and market drivers (competitors, market segments, etc.)
  • Identify market strategies used by competitors or organizations with similar products in different markets, to provide strategic approaches to grow market share and identify new opportunities
  • Having knowledge of our products features versus our competitors, from a technical point of view (cold end life, life cycle, features, etc…)
  • Having knowledge and communicate the relative market pricing for each model/product line per region
  • Understand the product costing, and the consolidated profitability per product line/models
  • Provide information and where necessary, deliver proposal for their products.
  • Ensure their products are part of the broader Nikkiso CEIG portfolio, and where possible provide opportunity for other functional units for delivery, packaging, installation, commissioning and ongoing service
  • Understanding of the use of the products and their applications (from installation to commissioning).
  • Provide training packages for sales people and customers
  • Where required provide Product and Marketing literature and branding to ensure that the Nikkiso CEIG product is recognized and differentiated.
  • Promotion and Marketing matters and Training activities related to each product lines.
  • Identify opportunities for “economies of scale” and “standardization” of Products in their portfolio. Ensure that the standard product lines, remain as much standard as possible.
  • Identify local needs and wants of given markets, and provide these as Options, with the main focus being standard offerings
  • Support global campaigns and marketing initiatives to maintain or grow market shares.
  • Once a business case is approved to start the development of a new product, the product managers rallies the team assigned to develop the product (R&D, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, AMS, etc), monitors the progress of the development phases and report any variables related to the business case (new competition, new pricing, etc.)
  • This role would also include the product management of vacuum insulated products, both to internal customers (other Nikkiso CEIG functional units) and external customers and end users.
  • These products include, but are not limited, to:
  • Vacuum insulated pipework (both bayoneted and buttweld)
  • Vacuum insulated piping systems and design
  • Vacuum insulated process system applications (Cryobuddies, Gas Phase Separators, Subcoolers etc)
  • Vacuum insulated sumps for pumps and other processes
Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position does not oversee any direct reports, as the portfolio grows, this individual may need to enhance the team to develop and grow the product range and market.
  • The role will also serve as a facilitator, trainer and mentor to others within or outside of its direct area of responsibility.

Work Environment

Work primarily in global office environments at Company and customer sites, as well as shop environments as needed.

Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write.
  • Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool or climb, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Use standard office equipment such as computers, smart phones, printers, photocopiers, etc.
  • Lift files and open desk drawers and filing cabinets.
  • Global travel is required. (Approximately 25%)

Qualifications:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years in industry
  • Both sales and operations experience preferred.
  • Proven expertise in relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in sales development and / or key account management.
  • Experience developing a business plan and leading a team to achieve goals.
  • Experience driving improvements in cost, quality, and profitability.
