Commis Chef, Lizard Island Resort

The opportunity:

Delaware North Australia is hiring a Commis Chef to join our team at Lizard Island Resort. As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression. Join our team and embark on an exciting culinary journey, where your skills will flourish in our vibrant kitchen atmosphere.

What you will do?:

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
• Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination

More about you:

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred
• Solid background in kitchen operations
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding
• A passion for food and creative flair
