The Pastry Lounge is seeking a Baker / Pastry Cook to join their flourishing business. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior employees who love what they do and have a true passion for the industry.
Key Responsibilities will include:- Prepare, stamp, roll dough and pastry & breads as directed
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations
- Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities
- Train other kitchen staff
- Recording food temperature
The Pastry Lounge is seeking an individual with the following key attributes:
- Relevant trade qualifications or work experience in lieu
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a busy kitchen environment
- Expertise in the hospitality sector
- Experience in stock control;
- Efficient ordering of stock;
- Calm under pressure;
- Formal qualifications and experience in comparable commercial kitchen operations;
- Ability to read orders and effectively communicate in a fast-paced kitchen;
- Friendly, hardworking individual with the right attitude;
- The ability to work as part of a team and multi-task;
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise with a diverse clientele
- Flexible, adaptable and ability to work weekdays and weekends
- Well-presented and professional
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Team player with a can-do attitude who can also work effectively unsupervised
- Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirements
Salary : $73200 + Super
