The Pastry Lounge is seeking a Baker / Pastry Cook to join their flourishing business. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior employees who love what they do and have a true passion for the industry.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare, stamp, roll dough and pastry & breads as directed
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations
  • Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities
  • Train other kitchen staff
  • Recording food temperature

The Pastry Lounge is seeking an individual with the following key attributes:

  • Relevant trade qualifications or work experience in lieu
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a busy kitchen environment
  • Expertise in the hospitality sector
  • Experience in stock control;
  • Efficient ordering of stock;
  • Calm under pressure;
  • Formal qualifications and experience in comparable commercial kitchen operations;
  • Ability to read orders and effectively communicate in a fast-paced kitchen;
  • Friendly, hardworking individual with the right attitude;
  • The ability to work as part of a team and multi-task;
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise with a diverse clientele
  • Flexible, adaptable and ability to work weekdays and weekends
  • Well-presented and professional
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Team player with a can-do attitude who can also work effectively unsupervised
  • Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirements

Salary : $73200 + Super
