Role
The available position is for a Childcare Worker at Kindy Town Endeavour Hills (136-138 Gleneagles Drive, Endeavour Hills 3802, VIC). This is a full-time role (38 hours per week) with an annual salary of $73,500 (guaranteed earnings), plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing a play-based learning program.
Contribute to a Reggio-inspired approach to the program.
Ensure the program reflects the holistic development of each child.
Tailor the program to suit each child’s individual interests.
Provide both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
Foster a sense of agency in children by empowering them to make choices.
Create a secure and emotionally safe environment for children.
Encourage risk-taking, creativity, collaborative play, and ongoing challenges.
Ground the program in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Commit to ‘making learning visible’ through documentation and displays of children’s work.
Support meaningful documentation, including planning, evaluations, observations, photographs, videos, and learning stories.
Respect and celebrate cultural backgrounds and educate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) cultures.
Create a flexible, responsive, and caring learning environment.
Support children with additional needs through inclusive practices.
Contribute to the ‘visible learning’ of children in consultation with the Lead Educator.
Supervise children during daily routines, including meals, rest times, playtime, and activities.
Manage children’s behaviours with positive guidance for their social and emotional development.
Ensure safety and hygiene standards are met in the learning environment.
Work with the Lead Educator to set up a learning environment as the ‘3rd teacher,’ emphasizing sustainability and reusability.
Liaise with families and colleagues to understand children’s needs, interests, and motivations, working together to meet these needs.
Requirements
Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Development or currently studying towards it.
First Aid qualifications as required by the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis, General First Aid).
A valid Working with Children Check.
At least 2 years of professional experience in childcare work in Australia.
At least 2 years of experience in an LDC environment and a similar role.
At least 2 years of experience working with children aged 0 to 6 years.
A current knowledge of relevant curriculum frameworks and the ability to implement a diverse program.
A strong understanding of the national quality standards, Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, and Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
