Short Term Contracts - Midwifery Educator - Thursday Island, Queensland - Brisbane

We are looking for an experienced Midwifery Educator to work in Thursday Island.

Dates: ASAP - 01.06.2025

• Minimum 5yrs of Midwifery experience.
• Experience in delivery of education and training programs which emphasise performance improvements and maintenance of competence.
• Ability to provide clinical practice support through mentorship, clinical supervision and assessment of competence.

• Effective communication and teaching skills to meet the needs of different learning styles.
• Currency, with the expected ability, to be able to teach in the following areas of remote health practice:
• Basic and Advanced Life Support for neonates.
• Clinical practice skill including, but not limited to; acute midwifery skills, advanced health assessment, newborn nutrition, pain management, perineal assessment and repair, maternal and neonatal emergency management, cannulation, patient manual handling, context relevant equipment, infection control principles.
• In depth knowledge and understanding of Indigenous health care; Midwifery led continuity models of care and the health determinants of Cape York, Torres Strait & Northern Peninsula Areas Communities.
