Senior Consultant

Rimkus is expanding its Asia-Pacific operations and is seeking an A Senior Consultant in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project controls or planning specialist who is looking to advance their career within a growing consultancy.
The role
You will work on a diverse range of commissions, either based in Rimkus’s office or on-site with clients. Your role will primarily sit within our Project Advisory Services, where you will provide planning, scheduling, and project controls support to our clients.As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership of client relationships and oversee their day-to-day needs, while also managing a team of Consultants within Rimkus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage project schedules and costs using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Perform Client schedule management duties, including coordination with Client teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Attend Client offices, project sites, meetings, and collaborate with all stakeholders.
- Coordinate, review, and provide input on vendor and contractor schedules.
- Ensure contractor compliance with NEC4 and CLIENT procedures, including cost/resource loading and Rules of Credit.
- Integrate SRA outcomes into schedules and support risk management processes.
- Review, validate, and update schedules; align contractor and CLIENT schedules for accurate progress tracking.
- Establish and maintain cost-loaded baselines, performance metrics, and earned value systems.
- Conduct variance and delay analysis, track KPIs, and prepare dashboards and reports.
- Identify schedule risks or delays and coordinate mitigations with project teams and the supply chain.
- Maintain scheduling benchmarks, contribute to continuous improvement through post-project reviews, and mentor team members to ensure consistency.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, project management, construction management or a related field
- Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools
- Studying towards a professional accreditation with CIArb is preferred
- Minimum of 7 years post graduate experience working for a construction or engineering contractor or specialist claims consultancy.
- Experience working on contentious disputes is highly regarded, especially arbitration and/or other formal dispute resolution experience
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft large sections of professional reports
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience
