The Woolworths’ Procurement team is an enterprise wide function and our job is to provide thought leadership, best practice advice and deliver a service that adds value to our business partners. The team is positioned to drive change and continuous improvement across the business whilst continually focused on providing excellent customer experiences to stakeholders.
As a core member of the IT, Telecoms and Digital Portfolio, reporting to the Portfolio Manager – Software & IT Services in Procurement, you’ll be responsible for delivering the Software & IT Services and Enabling technologies Category strategy you co-create.These two categories have depth and breath, including Stores, On-line, Supply Chain to name a few, and encompasses all our leading Brand Banners.
The Opportunity
This is a permanent opportunity where you’ll be involved in the end-to-end procurement lifecycle including large scale and enterprise wide projects that influence Woolworths Group. Using your strong EQ, and proactive approach, we're looking at you to help reimage the procurement function and value delivered to Woolworths.
What you’ll do- Co-develop category management strategies and execute to deliver tangible outcomes
- Lead market engagements - RFx’s, direct engagements, dispute resolution from strategy to delivery
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, at all levels, to enable forward thinking Procurement, commercial leadership and advice
- Lead commercial negotiations from complex, high value engagements to straightforward for both established and new technologies
- Engage closely with SME teams (e.g. Risk, Privacy, Cyber Security, Legal, Finance) to deliver the best commercial outcomes available
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key suppliers to enable accurate forecasting of future technology and commercial environments
- Identify and mitigate risks in all third party engagements either directly or with appropriate SME support
- Deal with and understand a wide range of technology applications in the Software & Services and Enabling Technologies portfolios
- Use your experience to adapt to new technologies to understand and successfully address the related commercial aspects in all engagements
- Promote the value and contribution of the Procurement function to IT and business stakeholders
- Manage and successfully deliver multiple market engagements simultaneously
- Delivering significant and sustainable EBITDA benefits
What you’ll bring
The experience you bring means you can be creative, adapting your application of best practice procurement to influence stakeholders and supplier partners for optimal outcomes. Your confidence, enthusiasm and detailed approach will unlock value and drive continuous improvement for our stakeholders. More specifically you will bring:
- Preferred relevant professional Procurement accreditation or certification, such as MCIPS.
- Proven experience in a similar procurement or commercial role with detailed knowledge of IT Software & Service
- Experience executing sourcing strategies in IT, Telco & Digital Categories (in particular Software Licencing, IT Services and Enabling Technology for Retail) and of contracting Software and associated services.
- Ability to negotiate major strategic and complex deals that delivered significant commercial outcomes.
- Sound appreciation of category management principles and processes, with an understanding of contract law.
- Proven experience in managing a multi-million dollar spend categories across a large organisation and geography.
