We are seeking an experienced and talented Chef to join our restaurant on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for culinary excellence, creativity, and precision, and will be dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Salary on offer is $75,500 plus super, depending on experience.
In this role, you will assist in overseeing kitchen operations and working with other team members in running an efficient kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:- Planning, directing, and supervising the food preparation and cooking activities of restaurant.
- Collaborating with the team to develop new menu items and implement improvements
- Inspect quality and freshness of ingredients and dishes at all stages.
- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes from our menu in accordance with recipes and personal judgement.
- Operating various kitchen utensils and equipment during cooking, such as industrial ovens, commercial mixers, knives, frypans, grills, etc.
- Supervising and demonstrating technique of cooking, to ensure kitchen staff understand and trial the correct cooking procedures.
- Keeping check on inventory and ordering stock, monitoring portions and minimizing wastage to maintain the costing and profits.
- Monitoring the stock temperature during arrival to ensure all ingredients meet the food safety requirements using a thermometer and storing them correctly following FIFO rules.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable sanitation regulations and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Working with other personnel such as manager and kitchen staff to discuss food preparation issues.
- Training, mentoring, and managing kitchen staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment
- AQF Diploma in relevant field.
- Have at least 1 year relevant experience in the industry.
- Be self-motivated, creative, confident and enthusiastic
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent tine management and multi-tasking abilities
- Good understanding and compliance with OH&S
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
