The opportunity:
Visy’s Operational Excellence division is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health Safety Environment Manager (HSE) to join their team. The HSE professional will play a key role in developing and driving the safety and health culture across our Melbourne and broader VIC sites.

This role is crucial in managing business risk and fostering a high-performance HSE culture by engaging and coaching managers, supervisors, and employees.

Reporting to the National HSE Operations Manager - Southern Region, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Develop and drive the site’s safety and health culture.
Provide expertise in the management of business risk.
Engage and coach managers, supervisors, and employees to foster a high-performance HSE culture.
Implement and maintain HSE initiatives, codes of practice, policies, and risk management strategies.
Influence the HSE change management process.
Work closely with key personnel to ensure the HSE approach is sustainable and aligned with the organisation’s HSE strategy.
Coordinate the implementation of all aspects of the HSE management systems.
Facilitate cultural change and increase line managers’ capabilities to drive HSE performance.

Ensure and maintain appropriate relationships with stakeholders regarding site HSE requirements.

What you will bring to the team:

Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WH&S)
Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing HSE role.
Strong knowledge of HSE management systems and risk management strategies.
Proficiency in MS Office products, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong stakeholder management, excellent communication and coaching skills.

Ability to influence and drive cultural change.
