Salary: $73,000 – $75,000 + Superannuation

The Role

As our Chef, you’ll be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the back-of-house culinary operations. Your work will honour time-tested vegetarian traditions while maintaining the high standards of a fast-paced, full-service kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of Indian vegetarian dishes including North Indian, South Indian, Indo-Chinese, and street-style favorites.
  2. Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations including ordering, prepping, and service flow.
  3. Collaborate on seasonal menu development and specials while adhering to sattvic cooking principles.
  4. Supervise, train, and guide kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and hygiene standards.
  5. Monitor inventory levels, portion control, and reduce wastage through efficient stock rotation.
  6. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards (HACCP).
  7. Manage prep during non-peak hours and coordinate smooth service during high-traffic times.
  8. Ensure all dishes are vegetarian and in line with restaurant ethos.
About You
  1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
  2. Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a Chef, preferably in Indian or vegetarian kitchens
  3. Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and sattvic meal preparation
  4. Ability to handle bulk prep, à la carte service, and catering orders simultaneously
  5. Calm, focused, and quality-driven even during peak periods
  6. Excellent team leadership and time management skills
  7. Passion for vegetarian cuisine and a commitment to upholding cultural values
