Sydney - Financial Controller | Part time

We are working with a well-established Not-for-Profit organisation seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join their team on a part time basis. The Role
As the Financial Controller, you will manage the financial operations and ensure the organisation's financial integrity and compliance. This part-time role offers flexibility, making it a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to contribute to a meaningful cause while maintaining work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting operations, including payroll, A/R, A/P, expense reimbursements, and GL, with support from the Finance Officer.
- Coordinate the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports.
- Prepare and publish monthly financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and research technical issues.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and ensure quality control in financial reporting.
- Manage the annual audit process and prepare audited financial statements.
- Prepare financial reports for the Committee and Board.
- Develop and document internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes.
- Manage financial risk, including insurance and compliance with procurement activities.
- Assist with payroll system maintenance and leave planning.
- Manage project portfolios, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA preferred.
- 7+ years of finance experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Big 4 background held with high regard.
