Mechanical Draftsperson

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join our engineering and design department on a full-time basis.
With over 100 years of experience within the engineering and gear manufacturing industries, Crown Engineering at Richlands, Brisbane, is a privately owned and operated company, and a leading supplier of products and services within the mining, mineral processing and energy sectors to a wide range of national & international customers.
Tasks & Responsibilities- Designing of products, jig & fixtures for production/manufacturing departments;
- Reverse engineering and producing detailed manufacturing drawings of various mechanical parts;
- Checking and/or approval of drawings produced by drafting team;
- Engineering support and documentation (including engineering change control, BOMs, mechanical design, work Instructions, test procedures, verification and validation testing of design and manufacturing processes)
- Management and maintenance of PDM system, control of design documentation and standardisation;
- Using AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks for design and drawings;
- Liaise with customers as and when required for drafting of products for customer order and/or projects;
- Willingness to produce drawings in accordance with Crown (in-house) drafting standards.
- Implement process change and continuous improvements to drafting systems;
- Ability to prioritise your own work load and work as part of a team;
- Working closely with our drafting, engineers, production and estimating teams;
- Willingness to travel, on occasion, to perform measurements, assessments, reporting, evaluation at customer work sites or premises.
- Permanent, unrestricted Australian working rights;
- Must be proficient in English;
- Diploma in drafting or relevant engineering degree is essential;
- Must be experienced in AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks – modelling, drafting and PDM management;
- Must have experience in the measurement of and reverse engineering of all types of industrial products;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
- Highly motivated individual with a "can-do" attitude.
- Must have current Australian drivers’ licence and own vehicle.
To be considered for this role you will have at least a minimum of 2 years previous drafting experience in a similar manufacturing/workshop environment.
A preferred but not essential knowledge/understanding in gear data, design and manufacture or a willingness to learn.We are looking for somebody who has an excellent track record in producing working drawings or models for manufacturing; have excellent interpersonal skills and strong time management skills, coupled with effective stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Salary will be commensurate with experience in the range of $80,000 to $105,000 plus superannuation.
