We are currently looking for a qualified Solid Plasterer to join the team! In this role you will be responsible for applying solid plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to create smooth or decorative finishes in both residential and commercial projects.This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Forest Glen, QLD.
Main Tasks:
- Material Measurement & Application: Measure, calculate, and estimate the quantity and thickness of materials required for each job. Ensure proper mixing and drying of materials in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Surface Preparation: Protect all nearby surfaces, including doors, windows, and floors, using appropriate coverings to prevent damage during application.
- Adhesion & Application: Apply high-adhesion layers to prepare surfaces for plaster base coats, using tools like trowels and spatulas. Ensure product is applied to appropriate surfaces for optimal adhesion.
- Reinforcement & Durability: Apply render layers with fiberglass mesh to reinforce and improve durability.
- Safety Compliance: Utilize required safety equipment, adhering to all Queensland state standards for solid plastering.
- Surface Inspection & Repair: Inspect surfaces, clean, and sand them to remove dust and debris. Repair any imperfections and prepare surfaces for the textured coating.
- Primer Application: Apply primer coats to enhance texture adhesion and finish longevity.
- Uniform Application: Ensure consistent application across surfaces, maintaining even pressure with tools to achieve a polished, uniform finish.
- Decorative Techniques: Apply specialized decorative finishes, including Microsegment Venetian Plaster and Concrete finishes, to enhance the visual appeal of completed work.
- Render Mixing: Mix render components evenly for smooth application, ensuring proper consistency.
- Additives & Sealants: Apply additives and sealants using specialized rollers to increase durability.
- Team Leadership: Collaborate with, guide, and lead team members to ensure efficient, high-quality work completion on time.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Minimum of a relevant Certificate III qualification plus 1 year’ relevant work experience in the last 5 years.
- 3 years’ relevant work experience may substitute the formal qualification.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
- Expertise in surface preparation and applying various plastering techniques.
- Knowledge of mixing and using different rendering materials and protective textures.
- Ability to interpret and follow project specifications and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail for smooth and precise finishes.

Annual salary will be between $76,000.00 to $86,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
