Tacca Industries is looking for Extrusion Machine Operator to join their team based in NSW.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for the overall preparation, operation and

inspection of the machine assigned to him/her. He/she monitors machine’s performance and output ensuring organization’s targets and goals as to productivity, efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery is consistently attained.

  • Extrusion Machine Operator must have a substantial knowledge of physical properties of raw materials and the conditions required to attain the optimum output, quality, and properties of finished goods.
  • Extrusion Machine Operator must understand the relations between machine conditions and quality of finished goods and make the necessary adjustment to achieve his goals of quality, output and safety to machine and people.
  • Extrusion Machine Operator needs to be able to make decisions that ultimately leads to a consistent high output, high quality, and consistency.
  • Extrusion Machine Operator must be able to make decisions in situations where machine is running material that may not in specs. Those decisions relate to adjustment, changing of material, changing conditions and or stop the line and demonstrate a high degree of independence.
  • Knowledgeable in Tacca Industries Machines and Products
  • Good in problem solving skills.
  • Attention to details.
LIST OF DUTIES:
  • Conforms with Food Safety and Quality Management System (QMS), Company Safety Standard and Code of Conduct.
  • Meets with the previous shift’s Extrusion Machine Operator on the current production status related to quality and efficiency such as top defects, reason for high rejections, machine related problems, output, and other relevant issues.
  • Checks with Production Supervisor on Production Schedule and work priorities.
  • Performs operations task as follows: Perform material weighing and mixing based on the formulation given by the production team leader/supervisor.
  • Set parameters such as residence time in mixer, crystallizer settings, dryers, extruder zoning temperature, pumps revolution per minute, Extruder A and B heater setting for screw conveyors, filters and T-dies, Line Speed, M1 Front Roller, M2 Middle Roller, M3 Back Roller, motor settings, Haul Off, Coating #1, Coating #2, Air Knife, rewinder and computation of linear meter.
  • Perform properly startup/shutdown, cleaning, and sanitation procedures.
  • Setup proper die gap and chill roll adjustment based on the thickness of the raw material to be used.
  • Correct computation of Die lip opening, actual width, chrome roll gap and screw and spacer setup.
  • Adjusting the trim cutter correctly.
  • Operates chiller parameters
  • Performs screen change as needed, use correct screen and parameters.
  • Monitors machine performance and troubleshoots minor issues.
  • Performs quality inspections, dimension checking and impact testing.
  • Maintains machine’s productivity and efficiency by ensuring proper start-up procedure and regular maintenance procedure is followed accordingly and consistently. Meets daily target output.
  • Provides problem solving techniques and minor troubleshooting whenever problem is encountered. Reports to immediate superior and/ QA for disposition if machine needs be stopped.
  • Calls maintenance personnel in-charge for assistance in troubleshooting major machine related problem and assists in the conduct of troubleshooting, refer to Machine Trouble Shooting Guidelines at all times.
  • Fills-out records of production and inspection as defined in the procedure.
  • Reports to the Immediate Superior on production status and problems encountered to assist him/her in the problem resolution process.
  • Collaborates with other co-workers on issues relative to production and inspection to ensure smooth flow of operations.
  • Conducts material/product wastes and scraps segregation, disposal, recycling, and transporting.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the immediate superior that includes but not limited to: General Housekeeping (5S) Raw Material, Packaging Material, WIP and FG Transporting and Forklift driving Unloading of RM and Loading of FG
  • Assisting Operations and quality inspections of other processes
ENVIRONMENTAL, SAFETY AND SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complies with Environmental Awareness Program on Resources Conservation Activities such as: Water Conservation, Electricity Conservation, Maximization of Raw Material Utilization, Solid Waste’s 3R-reduce, reuse, and recycle and its proper segregation and disposal.
  • Abides with all health and safety instructions and procedures as detailed in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manual and Plant Safety Management Plan to reduce the chance of injury to him/herself and others.
  • Comes to work in clean and hygienic condition free from any health hazards that could affect the condition of the products and the health of other personnel.
  • Always maintains an environmentally safe workplace through observance of the Organization’s Cleaning and Sanitation Procedures.
  • Wears proper personal protective equipment (PPEs) for his/her safety, product safety and product security to avoid hazards.
  • Reports all injuries, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and safety hazards to the Immediate Superior or concerned personnel immediately to maintain a safe working
  • environment.
  • Reports any abnormal or suspicious incidence, activities and possible risks that could have a significant impact to the organization’s overall profitability, safety, and security.
QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Observes and complies to all relevant Procedures, Work Instructions and Guidelines detailed in the Quality and Food Safety Manual to ensure target Quality / Food Safety Objectives, Targets and Programs are consistently attained.
  • Responds to issued non-conformance reports – FSMS, QMS & Safety Compliance Audit Report, GMP Report and Corrective Action Report (CAR) relative to violation, deviation and high rejection found as a result of audit and inspection made by QA.
  • Attends Operations meeting to discuss issues for not meeting Targets, Objectives and Program as to Quality, Productivity, Efficiency, Cost and Delivery, when necessary. Disseminates above to his/her subordinates.
  • Attends Trainings and Seminars relative to Quality and Food Safety Management System and other programs mandated by the organization.
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURE:
  • To diligently execute all duties as efficiently and cost effectively as possible to standards set down by Management.
KEY PERFORMANCE INTERVIEW:
  • Personal performance feedback interview to be conducted with you by the Production Manager at your Annual Performance Review
Salary : $73,150 to $75,000 per annum
