About the Position:
The Chef position at Festival India is a full-time role that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise in Indian cuisine. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic kitchen environment, preparing authentic South and North Indian dishes while contributing to the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis, dosas, and tandoori specialties, ensuring authenticity and consistency.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and presentation in compliance with Australian regulations.
Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering ingredients and minimizing waste.
Collaborate with the team to develop and update menus, incorporating seasonal and customer preferences.
Ensure timely preparation of orders for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery services.
Qualifications: Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management.
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and presentation.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
