We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join Norgine, on a 0.6 FTE.

The person holding this position will report to HR Business Partner, and be a member of the Global HR team.

The core responsibility of the HR Manager is to ensure the delivery of all HR Services in Australia on a strategic, transactional, operational and change management level including employee benefits. Contributing to strategic policy and procedures to ensure organisational effectiveness and achievement of goals.

Working closely together with the global support functions such as compensation and benefits, learning and development, and talent attraction. Being responsible for maintaining relevant administrative activities including employment contracts.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing advice and guiding management and individuals on organisation design, culture, engagement, employee development, legislation, organisation change and/or company HR policies and procedures for Australia/New Zealand relating to:

  • Behavioural standards of all employees.
  • Performance management; discipline, sickness, absence, recruitment, grievances and all other HR issues
  • Protection of confidential information as per the Norgine Data Integrity Policy
  • Knowledge of new developments in legislation and case law
  • Develop and deliver in conjunction with the HR business Partner Commercial & C&BD HR projects such as drafting workshop Agendas and facilitating HR workshops.
  • Discuss, propose and implement short / medium / long-terms development plans, in conjunction with functions management
  • Plan and undertake specified projects as required, e.g. to improve HR Systems and processes and the level of service delivery; Gallup Engagement Survey
  • 4S selling model to sales teams and / or sales coaching including days in field
  • Continuously look to improve and develop other HR practices and maintain and develop personal and professional abilities.

COMPLEXITY:

The HR Manager operates in a global matrix structure and has an important role in communicating with all levels of the organisation. The individual is required to have tact and discretion as well as the ability to see things through in a proactive manner.

The HR Manager is the first point of contact for all HR-related matters in the Australian office and therefore an ambassador for Norgine. For this reason, it is essential that the individual presents a professional approach as well as possesses strong communication and written skills.

The accuracy of typed communication and the presentation of information have to be of a high standard.

Although some of the tasks may be routine or cyclical, there are also several non-routine tasks that demand flexibility and insight in their prioritisation and balancing. The HR Manager must be able to handle confidential information securely.

The HR Manager must be a strategic sparring partner for the local management team in Australia and contribute to the longer-term strategy.

Requirements
  • BA/Academic level required
  • Solid, relevant work experience in the HR function
  • Experience and ability to work in a global matrix organization
  • Thorough knowledge of Australian labour law and legislation
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English
  • Accurate, excellent eye for details
  • A self-starter, ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise and manage their own workload
  • Proactive, flexible working attitude
  • Pragmatic, no-nonsense and hands-on
  • Team player
  • Flexibility of approach to people and situations, good social skills
