We've partnered exclusively with a well-established, privately owned logistics and warehousing business in Brisbane's inner north to recruit a capable and proactive HR Officer on a part-time basis.
With a workforce of around 40 employees and casuals, this business has grown steadily over several decades, offering reliable, tailored services to its customers. It's a collaborative, close-knit environment, with a strong culture of respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to a highly experienced Operations Manager who leads Finance and HR, this newly created role offers the chance to step into a broad and meaningful HR position where your impact will be visible and valued.
This is a hands-on generalist opportunity ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their HR career, particularly if you're confident with award interpretation and have a practical, down-to-earth approach.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, including probation check-ins
- Assist with performance management and training initiatives
- Lead policy review and help implement a long-awaited employee handbook
- Manage HR admin, records, and basic reporting (HR analytics provided quarterly for board reports)
- Work closely with managers on workplace culture initiatives and employee engagement
- Interpret and apply multiple awards across warehousing, manufacturing, and clerical roles
- Contribute to annual remuneration reviews and assist with compliance checks
- Be a trusted support to a leadership team focused on mentoring and culture
As the successful candidate, you ideally possess:
- Solid foundational HR experience, ideally within a blue-collar environment
- Strong knowledge of award interpretation and understanding of employment contracts
- You're proactive, professional, and solutions-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
- You're comfortable working in a business going through ongoing cultural and operational change
- You're confident navigating sensitive employee matters and building rapport across all levels
- You're ready to take ownership while also working collaboratively with a supportive manager
This is a newly created opportunity, offering flexibility to work part-time (circa 30 hours a week) across either 4 or 5 days, with 1 day working from home.
