STEAM Educator

A probationary period of six months applies.

In the first month, you will undergo training by assisting current educators to learn about the program structure, materials, and engagement strategies. Fuel reimbursement will be provided for travel to different school locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist current educators during the first month of training to become familiar with program delivery, materials, and student engagement.
• Conduct engaging and hands-on STEAM sessions for school-aged students at different schools each day after training.
• Foster a positive, fun, and educational environment that encourages students’ curiosity and creativity.
• Travel to various school locations to deliver after-school programs, ensuring timely setup and pack-up of materials.
• Collaborate with the curriculum development team during school holidays to create or enhance STEAM programs.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to improve the learning experience.
• Ensure all equipment and materials are used appropriately and maintained in good condition.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a safe learning environment.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Diploma of Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field is required.
• Proven experience in teaching, tutoring, or facilitating STEAM or related educational programs.
• Strong knowledge in one or more areas of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
• Ability to engage and inspire students from various backgrounds and learning abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to travel to different school locations daily.
• Availability to work from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and full days during school holidays.
• A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation (fuel reimbursement provided).
• Valid First Aid, CPR, Blue Card, and Police Check (or willing to obtain prior to start date).

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in program development and curriculum creation.
• Background in child education or childcare.

Employment Details:

• Location: Various school locations (travel required), office-based during school holidays.
• Hours: Part-time minimum 14 hours per week, with potential to extend to full-time.
• Probation: Six-month probationary period, including one month of training/assisting.
• Additional Benefits: Fuel reimbursement for travel.
