Electrical Engineering Technician

We are looking for a competent and qualified Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team at our headquarters in Roma, QLD.

Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer will provide Wellpro with electrical engineering and drafting capability to deliver bespoke electrical products, processes and systems, and enable the executing of engineering tasks associated with the mining sector on time, on budget, and without error.

• Assist Electrical Engineers in the design and development of electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on cementing and coil tubing units, as directed by the Electrical Engineer.
• Assist in estimating material costs and quantities for electrical work.
• Support the development of electrical products and systems for client projects by analyzing client requirements, and researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
• Ensure product quality by designing appropriate electrical testing methods, and by testing finished products and evaluating system capabilities.
• Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant data and industry trends.
• Maintain product and company reputation by ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Maintain the product database by writing computer programs, entering data, and completing projects through the training and guidance of technicians.
• Stay current with professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to overall team success by achieving related outcomes as required.
• Understand the importance of quality outcomes and act in accordance with established quality procedures.
• Recommend improvements to systems and equipment in line with customer needs.
• Ensure personal compliance with Wellpro policies and procedures, including those outlined in the employment contract, employee manual, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Relevant formal qualifications (preferred) or at least 2 years relevant experience.
• Mining industry experience or working with the services that directly supports the mining industry is desirable
• Engineering design experience specific to electrical design and government regulations is desirable
• Sound IT skills.
• Troubleshooting skills – diagnose faults in our cementing unit and ensure minimal downtime.
• Team skills –work collaboratively with Site Personnel, Workshop Team and Engineers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Result driven.
• Ability to adapt to operational requirements.
