The business is currently seeking skilled Pastrycooks and Bakers to join its team. These full-time roles come with a competitive salary range of 70-80K AUD per annum, plus superannuation. The salary will be negotiable for the right candidates, who will become integral members of a dedicated team focused on producing exceptional baked goods.
You will be required to do the following duties:- Mix, prepare, weigh, and measure ingredients for the creation of baked goods.
- Decorate pastries with various icings, toppings, and finishes to ensure visually appealing and exciting presentations.
- Glaze buns and pastries, and expertly decorate cakes with cream and icing.
- Monitor stock levels of baking ingredients (e.g., flour, sugar) and place orders within budget, ensuring smooth operations.
- Contribute ideas for menu development, including involvement in creating seasonal pastry offerings.
- Inspect the quality of ingredients and the condition of cooking equipment and utensils.
- Adhere to food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, sanitised, and organised kitchen environment.
- Ensure proper storage of all food items and supplies to maintain freshness and safety.
- Keep accurate records of production, inventory, and other relevant activities.
- Operate various kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
- Identify staffing needs and assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring kitchen personnel.
- Maintain a hygienic and efficient work environment.
- Plan, prepare, and schedule production activities to meet operational needs.
- Be open to relocating if currently based interstate or in another city.
- Be available to work weekends and flexible enough to handle split shifts.
- Preferably hold a certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a related field.
- Be a qualified Pastrycook/Baker with 2-3 years of experience in the industry.
- Have the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Have excellent communication skills.
