Key Responsibilities- Leadership in Estimation: Manage the end-to-end estimation process for civil construction projects, ensuring high-quality outputs aligned with client requirements and internal policies.
- Program Delivery: Oversee the implementation of estimating programs and projects while collaborating with councils to support successful delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to produce accurate, competitive, and comprehensive bid submissions.
- Process Optimisation: Identify and integrate improvements in estimation methodologies and tendering strategies.
- Cost Management: Develop precise cost estimates and detailed budgets for a wide array of civil engineering projects.
- Analysis and Procurement: Evaluate construction plans and specifications to determine resource needs, and secure competitive subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior estimators, fostering a high-performing team.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Proven Experience: Over 8 years of hands-on expertise in estimating for medium to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering construction methods, materials, and cost determinants.
- Analytical Excellence: Sharp problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail in interpreting technical drawings and construction documents.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in estimation tools, takeoff software, and related databases.
- Professional Credentials: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Collaborative Spirit: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
