Service Desk Technician - Perth

We are currently seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Desk Technician to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and other end-user devices, ensuring smooth operation and resolving issues in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Familiarity with Office 365 and other enterprise technologies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop support to end-users, both remotely and in person, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems, software applications, and peripheral devices, including Office 365 suite and related technologies.
  • Set up and deploy new desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, ensuring proper functionality and user access to enterprise systems.
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes, including user account setup, access provisioning, and data migration within Office 365 and other enterprise platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot network connectivity and printer-related problems, leveraging enterprise technologies such as Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, including incident logs, resolution steps, and knowledge base articles for Office 365 and other enterprise systems.
  • Follow established procedures and policies to ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations, particularly in relation to enterprise technologies.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to desktop support and enterprise technologies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a desktop support or technical support role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office suite, including Office 365 and its associated applications.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 administration, including user management, license assignment, and mailbox configuration.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account administration within an enterprise environment.
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware components and peripherals.
  • Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity issues and printer problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality support.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and priorities.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or equivalent, are a plus.
