About the Role
With a loyal following, a busy kitchen, a passionate crew, and an excellent reputation we’re looking for a results driven, creative and operationally savvy Head Chef to lead and grow with us as we look to expandWith plenty of room for growth as we grow the business, you’ll lead a well-established and skilled kitchen team in delivering high-quality, seasonal pub food with heart. This is a role for a hands-on leader who understands the balance between creativity, consistency, and commercial performance.
You’ll be working closely with the Operations Manager and wider leadership team to align the kitchen’s direction with our business goals. Bringing the team together around service, standards, and our values. A sharp eye for numbers, strong kitchen systems knowledge, and a genuine love of mentoring people are a must.What You’ll Be Responsible For
Leading a high-performing kitchen team with positivity, clarity and accountabilityDesigning and delivering creative, consistent, seasonal menus in line with Goldy’s brand
Accurate management of software programs resulting in accurate data and systems at all times
Managing stock, COGS, labour and supplier relationships to hit financial targetsOverseeing compliance, hygiene, OH&S and council standards across BOH operations
Inducting, training and developing team members – setting clear expectations and coaching for growth
Contributing to venue strategy, marketing content, and special event planning
Driving standards through systems, feedback and proactive leadership
Creating and delivering high quality function food
What You Bring
Proven Head Chef experience in a high-volume, quality-focused kitchenStrong leadership with a hands-on, calm and solutions-focused approach
Exceptional food knowledge and passion for delivering pub food that excites
Commercial acumen – confident with COGS, GP targets, staffing budgets and reporting
Experience using software systems to manage inventory, financial reporting, rostering, and recipe costing tools
An inclusive, team-first mindset and the ability to inspire and retain great people
Relevant trade qualifications and food safety certification
Availability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays
