About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this role, you will work closely with our Executive Chef and Head Chef to prepare and present high-quality dishes for both our restaurant and function services.
Key Responsibilities- Follow the guidance and instructions of the Executive Chef and Head Chef, contributing to a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes in large quantities for daily service and special events, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to recipes.
- Strictly adhere to the Food Safety Plan and Australian Food Safety Regulations, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Meticulously prepare mise en place for service, ensuring all ingredients and equipment are readily available and organized for efficient workflow.
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation, ensuring consistent adherence to Hotel Newman's high standards.
- Inspect kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure they are sanitary and ready for operation, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Introduce new culinary skills and techniques to the team, contributing to ongoing learning and development within the kitchen.
- Formal culinary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a high-volume, quality-focused kitchen.
- Excellent culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious food.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Competitive salary in line with the Hospitality Award ($73,200 per annum).
