Business Analyst - Time & Attendance Transformation
Brisbane | Onsite | 6-12 Month Contract | Up to $800 per day
Robert Half is partnering with a large, nationally recognised industrial organisation currently delivering a major enterprise Time & Attendance transformation across a complex operational workforce.
The program is already in flight, with several key business questions still to be resolved around future-state processes, configuration, pay rules, and operational ways of working. As a result, we are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with Time & Attendance / Workforce Management experience to help bring structure, pace and practical business analysis capability to the next phase of delivery.
This role will suit someone who is hands-on, pragmatic and comfortable working directly with operational teams to understand current challenges, simplify requirements and help shape future-state processes quickly.
The Role
You will work closely with HR, payroll, operations, timekeepers, supervisors and project stakeholders to capture business requirements, analyse current processes and support the design of future-state Time & Attendance solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with operational teams to understand current Time & Attendance processes, pain points and business requirements
- Capture how existing tools and systems are being used today, including legacy HR / workforce applications due to be decommissioned
- Assess what functionality should move into the new Time & Attendance platform versus other business systems
- Support future-state process design across time capture, timesheet approval, overtime, leave, pay rules and workforce reporting
- Translate business issues into clear requirements, options and practical solution recommendations
- Facilitate workshops with HR onsite teams, timekeepers, supervisors and business stakeholders
- Work closely with project leads, technical teams and vendors to support configuration refinement and delivery
- Identify process gaps, business risks and opportunities to streamline ways of working
- Support testing, rollout readiness, adoption and transition to BAU
- Use practical tools and techniques to accelerate discovery, mapping and process analysis without over-documenting
About You
You are a practical Business Analyst with experience working on Time & Attendance, Workforce Management, Payroll or HR systems projects. You are comfortable working in fast-paced, operational environments and can engage confidently with frontline business users as well as project stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Previous Business Analyst experience across Time & Attendance, Workforce Management, Payroll or HR systems
- Strong understanding of pay rules, overtime, leave balances, timesheet approvals and hourly workforce environments
- Experience working with operational or industrial workforces, ideally across production, manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, resources or similar environments
- Ability to work with business users to understand problems and shape future-state processes
- Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering skills
- A pragmatic approach - able to move quickly without getting stuck in excessive documentation
- Experience working on in-flight or challenging transformation programs would be highly regarded
- UKG configuration experience would be highly desirable, although broader T&A / WFM experience will also be considered
- Resilience, flexibility and the ability to operate in a fast-moving project environment
- Major enterprise Time & Attendance transformation
- High-impact role solving real business and operational challenges
- Work directly with HR, payroll and frontline operational teams
- Opportunity to help shape future-state processes across a complex workforce
- 6-12 month contract with strong likelihood of extension
- Onsite Brisbane-based role with strong stakeholder exposure
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on BA who understands Time & Attendance complexity and can help a large organisation move quickly from current-state issues into practical future-state solutions.
