Guildford Wines and Spirits are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Retail Manager to lead the store operations and drive business performance.
This is a hands-on role suited for a motivated leader who can manage day-to-day operations, lead and train a small team, deliver excellent customer service, manage inventory efficiently, and oversee financial and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities:- Store Operations: Supervise the overall day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the store.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff; foster a team culture that promotes high performance and customer service excellence.
- Customer Service: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt and courteous service, handling queries or complaints professionally.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, place orders, coordinate deliveries, ensure proper stock rotation, and maintain accurate records.
- Sales & Promotion: Drive store sales and performance through local marketing initiatives, promotions, and visual merchandising.
- Financial Oversight: Track daily sales, control cash handling procedures, prepare reports, and support budgetary management.
- Compliance: Ensure the store complies with liquor licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and internal company policies.
- AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in a relevant field
- At least one year of experience in a similar retail management role, preferably within liquor or FMCG
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
- Ability to manage inventory, rosters, and financial transactions efficiently
- Sound understanding of retail KPIs and sales strategies
- Knowledge of liquor regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and merchandising skills
- Reliable, organized, and customer-service oriented
