Welder / Metal Fabricator

Vic Wide Mobile Diesel Repairs is flexible, mobile and dedicated to providing an extensive range of services including Truck repairs, compaction repairs, hydraulic system repairs, auto electrical services and truck body repairs and builds. Currently we are seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Metal Fabricator / Welder to commence in our service department in Sunshine West, VIC.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

• Interpreting drawings, specifications and engineering plans
• Fabricating sections and components from sheet metal, pipes, wood, fiberglass and other materials
• Welding, screwing, riveting and bolting components together to form finished products
• Cutting, shaping and grinding sheet metal and plastic to create panels
• Attaching axles, suspension assemblies, steering columns and brakes
• Carrying out alterations to chassis in accordance with engineering specifications
• Fitting mechanical components such as winches, cranes and hoists
• Building, repairing and modifying truck trays and bodies

Skills & Abilities:

• Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade or equivalent
• Experience working with Trucks and other heavy vehicles
• Ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience
