About the role.

The Pursuits Manager is vital in shaping TSA Riley's approach to preparing and managing tender submissions for our Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin offices. This role facilitates the qualification process for opportunities and collaborates on key tender elements, including developing win themes, executive summaries, and workshops, while identifying new opportunities.

As part of the Marketing and Pursuits team, the manager ensures quality control for all submissions for the offices, supports business development activities, collaborates with Regional Managers, consultants and pursuit teams across states, and fosters team development through coaching and career growth initiatives for 2 direct reports.

The role also contributes to global strategic opportunities and supports other regions, as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end tenders process, including qualification, tender strategy and planning, team engagement, tender response, and tender delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor opportunity digests, lists, panels and portals for new tendering opportunities in line with regional clients, sectors and service line priorities.
  • Lead the tender qualification process in line with business objectives.
  • Manage Pursuit Consultants and support their skill development to boost tender success rates.
  • Track and monitor all tenders in CRM.
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers/Sector/Capability Leads on pursuit priorities across the offices you manage.
  • Collaborate with other regional and global teams to ensure best practices are shared and embedded across the business to drive excellence in pursuit activities.
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional team members in the ‘Marketing & Pursuits’ team on pursuit activities, including marketing operations, communications and brand marketing.
  • Continuously enhance tender response quality by tracking success metrics, requesting and obtaining client feedback, embedding lessons learnt and providing training and insights for high-quality, repeatable response approaches.
  • Contribute to global and national Account Management Plans and Area Strategy Plans.
  • Analyse market trends and competition to inform tender and Business Development strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for deeper client engagement to enhance tender effectiveness.
  • Understand and communicate client needs effectively.
  • Optimise submissions by leveraging acquired organisational knowledge and linking projects, services, and sectors.
  • Effectively manage and prioritise multiple tenders and tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration, Sales / Business Development, Procurement or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years in tendering, preferably in B2B property, infrastructure, or professional services.
  • Previous leadership or managerial experience.
  • Proven success in pursuit roles in Australia or New Zealand; tenders/pursuits training is a plus.
  • Expertise in managing the tender process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling proposals.
  • Creative and innovative in developing pursuit strategies that stand out in competitive markets.
  • Strong ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with set branded templates / styles and brand guidelines to ensure brand consistency and brand recognition.
  • Strong mentoring and team motivation skills across diverse locations.
  • Strong analytical skills, data-driven mindset, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Power Point, producing professional documents that align with TSA Riley’s Brand Voice.
