Job Purpose:
Working closely with key stakeholders including Lead Software and Systems Engineers, Software Engineering Managers, design and test application-level software to achieve functional, safety and business objectives.
Duties & tasks include:
- Design safety compliant software components to realise specifications and requirements from systems engineering inputs.
- Implement designs in a Model Based Design framework.
- Develop unit tests and support the development of a unit testing framework in a Simulink environment (including plant creation).
- Perform unit tests on implemented software components (MIL and SIL).
- Be involved in the full life-cycle of system/software development from concept through integration, test, and release to vehicles.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position brings with them:
Essential:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or the equivalent in experience with focus on controls engineering.
- 5+ years of proven experience, in the automotive industry or similar preferred.
- Experience in safety critical software development
- Experience using Matlab/Simulink to create software components in a Model Based Design workflow.
- Experience with plant model creation and simulation.
- Experience with root cause analysis and engineering risk management methods (e.g., FMEA).
- Knowledge of version control (Git).
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
- Fluency in written and verbal communication in English.
Desirable:
- Experience with vehicle dynamics, motion control or ADAS systems.
- Experience working in an agile workflow.
- ISO-26262 and ASPICE knowledge is preferred
- Proficient in embedded C/C++.
- Experience in data analysis.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, I2C, SPI).
