About the Position:
We are seeking 3 skilled and dedicated Cooks to join our kitchen team at Alma in Surfers Paradise. This full-time role (38-40 hours per week) provides an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents, preparing a variety of Latin American-inspired dishes while maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, safety, and presentation in a bustling restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes using grills, ovens, fryers, and stoves, with an emphasis on fire and coal cooking techniques.
Following recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency.
Preparing ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and seasoning before service.
Adhering to food safety regulations (HACCP) and workplace health & safety standards.
Ensuring all ingredients are stored correctly to prevent contamination.
Operating and maintaining professional kitchen tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Guiding junior cooks or kitchen hands in food preparation and safety.
Monitoring ingredient levels, ordering stock, and minimizing food wastage.
Required Qualifications: At least Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Strong team leadership and communication skills to supervise kitchen assistants.
