Purpose of the role:
The Design Lead Engineer will oversee the technical development of civil engineering projects, focusing on civil structures and underground works. This role involves leading project teams as either a discipline leader or Project Manager, with support from the Country Manager and Deputy Country Manager.
The Design Lead Engineer will be responsible for overviewing and validating all the geotechnical and structural development of civil engineering projects with a focus on underground infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:- Establish and manage project setups, ensuring technical development in a collaborative BIM-based environment, working closely with the BIM Coordinator.
- Oversee projects ranging from feasibility studies for owners to execution design and consulting tasks for major EPC contractors.
- Lead the technical development of civil engineering projects, focusing on civil and underground structures.
- Coordinate with Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) designs and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Conduct periodic site visits to monitor ongoing projects and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Provide expert guidance and technical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain effective communication and project alignment.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in geotechnics and/or structural engineering.
- At least 7 years of professional experience.
- Proven track record in developing projects within Australia.
- Extensive experience in underground construction.
- Proficiency in delivering projects adhering to BIM standards.
- Advanced expertise in using AutoCAD.
- International experience with exposure to diverse cultures is preferred.
Salary Range: $180K-$200K
