Annual salary: $78,000 – $82,000 plus superannuation
We are proud to be a leading manufacturer of premium Indian dairy products in Australia and overseas. Our business specialises in the preparation of traditional Indian dairy-based sweets and products, including gulab jamun, barfi, ladoo, khoya-based products, paneer, and yoghurt.
Due to the specialised nature of our product range, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef with strong expertise in traditional Indian dairy-based sweets and cooking techniques.
About the role
This role is based within our production facility and focuses on the hands-on preparation and cooking of traditional Indian dairy-based sweets using specialised techniques. It requires a high level of skill in working with milk-based ingredients to achieve consistent texture, flavour, and quality.
This role requires hands-on preparation using traditional cooking techniques and manual methods, rather than reliance on automated production processes.
Key responsibilities include: Prepare and cook traditional Indian dairy-based sweets using established recipes and techniques
Work with milk-based ingredients including khoya, paneer, ghee, and sugar syrups to achieve precise texture and consistencyMonitor and control cooking processes, including temperature, timing, and ingredient balance
Ensure consistent quality, flavour, and presentation across all batches
Plan and coordinate daily preparation based on production requirements and orders
Adjust cooking techniques and formulations based on ingredient variation and production conditions
Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in line with NSW Food Authority requirements
Train and guide production staff in specialised preparation techniques and quality standards
Assist in refining and improving recipes and cooking methods to enhance consistency and shelf-life
Perform manual preparation and shaping of sweets using traditional techniques to achieve required texture, structure, and consistency
To be successful in this role, you should have: Proven experience as a Chef specialising in traditional Indian sweets and dairy-based products
Strong practical knowledge of milk-based ingredients, including khoya, paneer, ghee, and sugar syrupsDemonstrated ability to produce Indian sweets with consistent texture, structure, and quality
Experience working in a commercial kitchen or production environment
Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency at scale
