Chef (Indian Dairy and Sweets Specialist)
(Full-time)
Annual salary: $78,000 – $82,000 plus superannuation

We are proud to be a leading manufacturer of premium Indian dairy products in Australia and overseas. Our business specialises in the preparation of traditional Indian dairy-based sweets and products, including gulab jamun, barfi, ladoo, khoya-based products, paneer, and yoghurt.

Due to the specialised nature of our product range, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef with strong expertise in traditional Indian dairy-based sweets and cooking techniques.

About the role

This role is based within our production facility and focuses on the hands-on preparation and cooking of traditional Indian dairy-based sweets using specialised techniques. It requires a high level of skill in working with milk-based ingredients to achieve consistent texture, flavour, and quality.

This role requires hands-on preparation using traditional cooking techniques and manual methods, rather than reliance on automated production processes.

Key responsibilities include: Prepare and cook traditional Indian dairy-based sweets using established recipes and techniques

Work with milk-based ingredients including khoya, paneer, ghee, and sugar syrups to achieve precise texture and consistency
Monitor and control cooking processes, including temperature, timing, and ingredient balance
Ensure consistent quality, flavour, and presentation across all batches
Plan and coordinate daily preparation based on production requirements and orders
Adjust cooking techniques and formulations based on ingredient variation and production conditions
Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in line with NSW Food Authority requirements
Train and guide production staff in specialised preparation techniques and quality standards

Assist in refining and improving recipes and cooking methods to enhance consistency and shelf-life

Perform manual preparation and shaping of sweets using traditional techniques to achieve required texture, structure, and consistency

To be successful in this role, you should have: Proven experience as a Chef specialising in traditional Indian sweets and dairy-based products

Strong practical knowledge of milk-based ingredients, including khoya, paneer, ghee, and sugar syrups
Demonstrated ability to produce Indian sweets with consistent texture, structure, and quality
Experience working in a commercial kitchen or production environment
Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency at scale

If you have the specialised skills required to produce authentic Indian dairy-based sweets to a high standard, please send your CV to info@businessnest.com.au. Please include the job role title in your email.

Applications open on 22 May 2026 and close on 21 June 2026.
