Job Overview: Shaumet Music Academy is a newly established music school in Chatswood, dedicated to offering exceptional music education to the local community. As our school continues to expand, we are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Cello Teacher to join our team.
Pay: $40.00 – $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 3 per week
We are committed to fostering musical talent and a love for music among our students. Candidates who can teach both one-on-one and group cello lessons will be given priority.
Teacher Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized one-on-one and group cello lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
- Develop customized lesson plans that align with each student’s abilities and goals.
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full musical potential.
- Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to both students and parents.
- Encourage student participation in performances and ensemble activities.
- Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
- Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Specific Responsibilities for Cello:
- Teach cello techniques, repertoire, and performance skills.
- Coach students on performance preparation for solo and ensemble settings.
- Prepare students for AMEB exams (preferred).
- Integrate music theory into practical lessons where applicable.
Requirements:
- Experience teaching the AMEB syllabus is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring students.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cello techniques and repertoire.
- Experience working with students of all ages, from young beginners to advanced players.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred).
- Licence/Certification: Working with Children Check (required).
- Working Rights: Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
