FoodiFox (One Plus Kitchen Pty Ltd) utilises advanced technology to create an innovative contactless and convenient food delivery framework. FoodiFox offers an integrated service platform where lunch menu selections are cooked to order and delivered to a convenient contactless pick-up location around Melbourne CBD.

To oversee and lead the IT upgrade initiative, FoodiFox is keen to recruit a Senior Software Engineer.

• Redesign and upgrade Java backend systems for improved responsiveness, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop new features for the React frontend, ensuring seamless integration with IoT-enabled storage lockers.
• Implement performance monitoring tools and optimize codebase for peak efficiency.

• Strengthen data protection protocols (encryption, access controls) to safeguard client databases.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other regulations.
• Design disaster recovery plans and real-time threat detection mechanisms.

• Optimize SQL/NoSQL databases for high traffic and low latency.
• Ensure data integrity and audit trails; automate backups and replication strategies.

• Partner with product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps to deliver agile solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decision-making.

• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and deploy timely updates.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to recommend security and performance improvements.

Successful applicants should have the following experience, qualifications and skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Experience:

• 5+ years in software engineering with expertise in backend systems, frontend components and security frameworks.
• Have extensive experience in the design of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Proven track record in scaling high-traffic applications and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Technical Skills:

• Languages: Java, Python, JavaScript or similar.
• Frameworks: Spring Boot, React, Node.js or equivalent.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Security: OWASP standards, penetration testing tools, encryption protocols.
• Distribution Systems: Spring Cloud, Kubernetes

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Thrives in fast-paced, agile environments.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines.
• Given the nature of FoodiFox's business, a background in working with IoT, food tech, or logistics platform applications would be preferred.
