We specialize in any type of painting for Commercial, domestic and heritage works.

For over 10 years we have serviced the wider Sydney area transforming the interior and exterior of houses, apartments, and commercial properties for long-lasting, quality results. We currently seeking for an experienced painter who can fulfill available job position.

About the role:
Position Overview:
A Painting Trades Worker is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying various coatings to buildings, structures, and other surfaces. This role involves a range of tasks from surface prep and paint application to installing wallpaper and performing minor repairs.

Workers in this field ensure a high-quality, durable finish through the proper use of materials, tools, and techniques.

  • Surface Preparation: Remove old paint, wallpaper, and any damaged surfaces. Repair woodwork, fill holes and cracks, and smooth rough areas to ensure optimal surface readiness for painting or coating. Seal surfaces when necessary for a proper finish.
  • Scaffolding and Safety Setup: Erect scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment necessary for accessing high or difficult-to-reach areas. Place drop sheets and protective coverings to safeguard surrounding areas from paint splattering or other damage.
  • Paint and Coating Preparation: Select and prepare paints to the desired color and consistency by mixing pigments, oils, thinning agents, and drying additives to achieve the required texture and finish.
  • Paint Application: Apply various coatings, such as paints, varnishes, and stains, to surfaces using a variety of tools, including brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Ensure uniform coverage and smooth application.
  • Wallpaper Installation: Hang wallpaper, carefully matching patterns and trimming edges for a neat, seamless finish. Ensure that wallpaper adheres correctly and is free of wrinkles or bubbles.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Repair windows, replace glass in both wooden and metal frames, and perform minor fixes as needed to maintain the appearance and functionality of surfaces.
  • Tile Work: Lay and repair wall and floor tiles, ensuring that they are securely fixed and aligned to create a durable and visually appealing finish.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean tools, brushes, rollers, and spray equipment after use. Maintain a tidy work area to ensure safety and efficient work processes.
  • Quality Control and Inspection: Inspect painted and finished surfaces for evenness, smoothness, and quality. Address any imperfections and ensure that all work is completed to high standards.

Expected knowledge

Applicant must be able to work from elevated work platforms, scaffolds, cherry pickers etc. All tasks paint related with maximum quality required.
To be able to work on his own, without supervision on some of the small to medium projects, knowledge of the safety around the construction site
You will be required to carry out painting to a high quality and timely fashion to ensure projects are completed on time.

You will have the ability to work autonomously as well as effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

  • Skills:

o Expertise in surface preparation, including sanding, filling, and priming.

o Ability to mix and apply paints, stains, and finishes.
o Knowledge of applying wallpaper and tiling techniques.
o Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and scaffolding safely.
o Attention to detail for creating neat, high-quality finishes.
o Strong understanding of safety protocols, especially when working with hazardous materials or at heights.
  • Physical Requirements:
o Ability to work at heights and in various environmental conditions (indoors and outdoors).
o Manual dexterity for handling tools and performing detailed work.
o Physical stamina for standing, bending, and lifting materials.
  • Work Environment: This job often involves working in confined spaces, high altitudes, or outside in varying weather conditions. The work environment can be dusty and noisy, requiring attention to safety at all times.
