The Role
The AML Analyst will join an experienced team line 1 team, and support on a wide range of financial crime activities to support the ongoing imbedding of the Group's AML framework and controls. Key duties for this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor and assess potential risks related to money laundering, terrorism financing, and other financial crimes in line with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers and transactions, ensuring thorough risk assessments and appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Investigate and prepare Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) for submission to AUSTRAC when necessary, ensuring compliance with reporting obligations.
- Perform regular transaction monitoring to identify suspicious activity, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on AML/CTF (Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing) regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of AML/Financial Crime controls and procedures.
