HR Generalist

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources-related duties and works closely with HR Manager and departmental managers. The role encompasses employee relations, compliance, learning and development, performance management and employee benefits.

This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a thorough understanding of HR best practices and legal compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations; act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Learning & Development; assist in developing and delivering internal training programs.
  • Performance management; support managers in conducting performance reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Engagement and Retention
  • Compliance, Policy and Administration; stay updated on employment legislation and ensure compliance, assist with WHS requirements.
  • HR Consulting/Other; provide Managers with timely and effective HR support and advice or escalate to HR Manager, assist with workforce planning initiatives and more.

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of HR policies, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills to handle sensitive situations.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Process-oriented mindset to create and streamline workflows.
  • Flexibility to handle changing priorities and unexpected challenges.
  • Experience in planning and executing HR projects, such as policy rollouts or training programs.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • 3+ years of experience in a generalist HR role
  • Attention to detail
  • Self motivated and can work independently
  • Education: Tertiary qualifications in HR
