Senior Commercial Analyst

The Company

Our client, a leading listed FMCG business, is experiencing strong growth and is looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to join their high-performing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, consumer-driven environment, providing data-driven insights and strategic financial support to influence key business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide data-driven insights to support key business decisions across sales, marketing, and operations.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to guide strategic planning.
• Conduct profitability analysis by product, channel, and customer to drive margin improvement.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and cost control.
• Deliver sales and revenue forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities.

• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
• Support new product development (NPD) analysis, evaluating financial viability and ROI.
• Assist in cash flow management and working capital optimization to improve operational efficiency.

• Leverage business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, SAP, etc.) to provide real-time financial insights.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility of financial performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

• CA/CPA/CFA qualified (or working towards) with experience in commercial finance.
• Proven experience in an FMCG or retail environment, with a strong understanding of sales and operational drivers.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
• Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
• A proactive, commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
