Enterprise Applications Manager (Financial Services)

Due to continued business growth, we are looking for an Enterprise Applications Manager for this SME Financial Services client. Prior experience working in Financial Services is essential.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team and work closely with your manager to establish and execute the organisation's applications strategy.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, especially of modern architecture and integration in a banking or financial services context, plus a proven track record of leading expert teams. This is a senior leadership role that requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and drive organizational change.

• Strong technical knowledge especially of modern architecture and integration in a banking or financial services context.
• Experience with cloud technologies, API management, microservices architecture, cybersecurity practices and modern programming languages is critical.
• Experience in modernisation strategies in managing applications, ways of working and methodologies.
• Senior management experience in Application Delivery.
• Proven experience working closely with business stakeholders like Sales, Legal, Product, Finance etc and other technology teams like IT Security and Operations to align delivery with broader business goals.
• Communicating complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders and C-suite executives.
• Strong risk management experience, including cybersecurity, data protection, business resilience and disaster recovery.
• Work closely with your manager to establish the organisation's application strategy.
• Manage the operational and systems development expenditures within budget and to deadline.
• Provide assessment, planning and appropriate measurement of application landscape, including upgrade paths and development roadmaps.
• Consider sourcing and delivery models, ways of working and lifecycle management appropriate to the applications and business use.
• Oversee the management of third-party vendors, evaluate their offerings and ensure they deliver quality services, support and tools.
• Assess, develop and implement risk management strategies for IT applications.
• Cultivate and maintain a leading software development capability with the capacity to accommodate varying workloads.
• Assess workforce mix in Applications team and implement optimisation strategies.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and other project and product delivery tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CSM, PSM, SAFe Agilist, Agile Coaching, PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL are highly desirable.
