Our Client partners with pharmaceutical and biotechnology enterprises, research organisations, university partners and medtech companies from around the world to bring new therapies to market. Their experienced team provides specialist trial services for Phase I-IV trials for industry and investigator-initiated studies.

The vision of their clinical trials centre is to be a globally pre-eminent centre for research. Located in Melbourne’s biomedical precinct, the largest precinct of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, their stakeholders and collaborators partner to provide the perfect environment for bench to bedside translational research.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Board, the primary role of the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) is to build upon the existing leading clinical trial services already offered. You will harness the growth potential to develop them further into a leading clinical trial service, providing the highest quality, internationally competitive clinical trial services within the national and international context.

You will undertake strategic business development to ensure ongoing pipeline, however balanced with the core need of strong leadership, to steady and guide the internal team, stakeholders and organisation.

The Requirements
  • Higher degree qualification in business (preferably an MBA), combined with life sciences or aligned background.
  • Outstanding record of achievement as a CEO or senior executive leading and growing a commercial organisation in the CRO, clinical trials, pharmaceutical or related markets.
  • Excellent operational management expertise and change management oversight.
  • Business Development experience with proven capabilities in building a pipeline of opportunities to ensure financial growth.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the local and global clinical trials sector is essential.
  • Knowledge of commercial contract requirements and service offering pricing and negotiations. The Offer
